Šilo is a small tourist town on the Island of Krk and is perfect for those who seek a calm place to spend the whole day relaxing on the beach.
There is an abundance of pebble beaches, small secluded bays surrounded by nature as well as one sandy beach, which is perfect for families with small children as the entrance into the sea is shallow. Many of these are easily reachable on foot and close to the town center. The sandy beach is year after year awarded the blue flag that praises sea cleanliness and clarity.

Šilo is also very close to other sightworthy places, such as: Soline, Klimno, Cižici, Dobrinj,...

Soline, which is only 7 kilometers away is well-known for its big mud beach. The mud is known to have healing properties that can be applied when treating rheumatic or skin problems.

One of the attractions nearby is the Cave "Biserujka" which is approx. 11 kilometers away from Šilo, situated in a historic village Rudine.

Some other interesting places to visit on Krk are: The Tropical Aquarium and Terrarium in Krk (20 km away) and The Adriatic Aquarium in Baška (30 km away).

In Šilo you can find many restaurants and bistros that offer traditional Mediterranean cuisine. Both restaurants and cafes are located along the shore in the town center. There are convenience three stores, a post office, medical assistance (general medicine and dentist) as well as a pharmacy in the immediate vicinity. Exchange offices and ATMs can also be found in the town center. Bakeries and a hair salon are near the tourist agency.
