The small completely detached stone house dates from the early 19th Century and stands on a hill in the small quiet medieval village of Rivalto (93 inhabitants). Casciana Terme is 6 kilometres away; this town has been well-known for its hot springs since the time of the Roman Empire, and it is now a tourist centre with a spa. 20 km away is the medieval town of Volterra, the distance to the famous medieval village of San Gimignano is 30 km, while Pisa and Florence are 35km and 50km away. If you follow a picturesque road on the opposite side of the hill for about 35km, you will reach the sea with the villages of Castiglioncello, Vada and Rosignano (province of Livorno). There are many historic monuments and Roman churches to visit. The village is charming with its surrounding hilly landscape, and is also famous for its culinary gastronomic tradition. The dishes with wild boar, the "king of the macchia", are particularly recommended. The outdoor area is designed to be very inviting.
