Vacation in architectural monument combines heritage conservation and tourism. Historically valuable buildings are taken over, gently renovated and rented out as holiday flats. The model provides a double benefit: the monuments are given a new future and the holiday guests experience a stay in an exceptional building. The idea is being realised by the foundation Vacation in architectural monument (FiB), which was founded in 2005 by the Swiss Heritage Society.
Car park: There is no car park directly at the house. The SBB car park is one minute away from the house and charges apply. Access to the house is guaranteed. You can unload your luggage or shopping in front of the house.
Public transport: The Fischerhäuser are located right next to Romanshorn railway station (1 minute walk).
Number of persons 6: A baby cot (up to 2 years) is available. The house offers space for six guests (plus baby). Flat 2 is on the 1st floor and is accessed from the inner courtyard (gravelled area) via an outside staircase/arbour. From the corridor there is a right turn into the eat-in kitchen and from the kitchen straight ahead into the living room. A door also leads from the kitchen into a room with two single beds. Next to the kitchen is a small bathroom with shower/WC. From the corridor there are two more double bedrooms. The floors are made of stone and wood, which is why we recommend good slippers.
Garden: The gravelled area is available for use by holiday guests and is shared with the guests of flat 1 and the B&B.
WLAN: Is available.
Open: The house can be rented from April to October.
Pets: Pets are not allowed.
Altitude: 400 metres above sea level.
Extras: The Lake Constance region is ideal for cycling tours. Bicycles and/or e-bikes can be hired from the SBB right next to Romanshorn railway station. The Fischerhaus 3 is run as a B&B and can accommodate up to 10 people. It can also be rented for just one night. The B&B runs a small café/restaurant. This is open on Friday evenings, Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons.
IMPORTANT ADDITION
The Fischerhäuser are architectural monuments that have been renovated with great respect for the existing fabric. The tenant is aware of this and treats the property with care. Although the technical equipment is up to date, certain functional details do not meet current standards and are a potential source of danger. In particular, reference is made to the low window heights without railings. The tenant is aware of these circumstances. The owner, e-domizil and the foundation Vacation in architectural monument decline any liability.
