And, within a 50 km radius, there are plenty of excursions to choose from: Roman Narbonne, the Cathar castles of the Corbières, the medieval village of Minerve and the city of Carcassonne (a UNESCO World Heritage site), as well as natural sites such as the Canal du Midi, the Lac de Jouarres, the Bages lakes (popular with migratory birds), and the La Clape regional park (renowned for its picturesque hiking trails).
